Leo Lauren drops debut single ‘Supernormal’.

Leo Lauren is a talented guy! He is a songwriter, producer and visual artist from LA. Leo manages to blend many genres into his music and draws influences from a range of bands/artists such as Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Idol, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Gorillaz, Tears for Fears, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure, and Peter Murphy. This is why his music is so unique! I have never heard a song like ‘Supernormal’ as it combines pop, goth and new wave. Drummer Jarrod Alexander of My Chemical Romance helps out using his skills on the drums.

‘Supernormal’ is a showcase for Leo’s amazing vocals. This is one reason I was drawn to the song, and secondly, it was the unique music. Leo explains the meaning of ‘Supernormal’ here “Supernormal seeks to navigate the brazen optimism, great expectations and disappointments of human experience. It is an expression of release from the tension born when moments of personal transcendence and fantasy are persistently confounded by the limitations of occupying a physical body – a body subject to worldly demands as well as the waves of loneliness and isolation that accompany its individual existence.” The lyrics are meaningful and do explore the human experience and existence. Leo has a way of making his vocals full of emotion and expression.

Leo, being the artist he is, is creating a Sci Fi set in his studio and designing a uniform based on a Hellraiser-esque alien and other pieces of work. I love Sci Fi and with Leo’s creativity involved, I look forward to seeing it.
