‘CALL THE POLICE’ TROPICAL ZOMBIE RUN WILD IN NEW VIDEO

Sydney surf sextet Tropical Zombie want you to have a rip-snorter of a time. It’s just in their nature: nothing is serious. Nothing is sacred. Everything is a scuzzed-out fever dream; and the video for their latest single ‘Call The Police’ is no exception.

 Deadset legends Pilerats premiered the track last week – dubbing it “perfectly suited” to accompany draining “a frothy down at the beach”. Trust the dudes from TZ to take that notion, turn it upside out, and viciously shake it up. Just like that frothy. Featuring a depressed zebra-man, a hippo-human with childhood bullying issues and a giraffe that doesn’t really know what’s going on, this is not a clip for the rationalist in you.

 The concept for the eccentric, inscrutable romp came to guitarist Matt Swords in his sleep. Or, as he puts it, “A hoofless zebra and a naked Indian visited me in a dream and told me what I must do”. And it’s a damn good thing they did.

Since the band’s accidental birth in 2012, Tropical Zombie have swung from strength to strength like Tarzan through the jungle. With accolades rolling in from industry figureheads, media and fans alike, the lads have no intention of slowing down. If their latest clip doesn’t satiate your coastal dance cravings, then catch the six piece on any of their 2016 East Coast tour dates.
