30 Seconds To Mars Drops Masterpiece Video “Stuck”

Quite possibly the strongest imagery of 2023 is how 30 Seconds To Mars Dropped their first single in years.

There is no question that Jared Leto can bring surprise to any offering, from playing a balding Paulo Gucci in a track suit, to an Oscar winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club, right down to dressing as Karl Lagerfled’s cat for the Met Gala, he brings it hard and occasionally shocking.

He and his brother, Shannon are just blowing the music world away with “Stuck”. Catchy isn’t a strong enough word. Addictive might be better. The imagery, according to Jared Leto’s Instagram is based on trail blazing photographers such as Robert Mapplethorpe, something that in the 80’s was a slap in the face to the establishment for those of us who remember it. For me it was an incredible new view of how photography can and does change public opinion and opens up dialog.

Mapplethorpe, was such an influence, even American Horror Story borrowed character development from his life in 80’s New York.

This video celebrates beauty in all forms, and I can’t get it or the song out of my head. In a short three days, the video blasted to over four million views. I’m looking forward to the next songs, and a tour. I already know the bar has been raised with this one.
