Ren and The Skinner Brothers release two hit songs ‘So the Story Goes’ and ‘CTRL ALT DELETE’.

For those who know me well you would know that I am obsessed with the artist Ren. As a chronically ill person his music is relatable and he is one of the top song writer of this generation. His music is classic multiage generational music as I am 55, let me know in the comments how old you are. I am working on a post on how his music can help millions of people who suffer from Chronic illness and mental health. For now though, lets celebrate Ren and The Skinner Brothers new songs. ( I live in brain fog so please forgive my writing, I am doing my best!)

I am new to the Skinner Brothers and they have just released an EP and the two tracks with Ren ‘So the Story Goes’ ‘CTRL ALT DELETE ‘ have been in the Top 10 trending on Youtube and Video charts for the last two weeks. I am loving what I am hearing so far!

As we know Ren is a master story teller with his music and videos. With the addition of Zac AKA Soul Boy, these two songs do not disappoint!

This song starts the story, at 7.16 am

Ren fans will love this video, with Ren jumping half naked out of the window being caught with another mans girlfriend. (Connor acts his outrage really well and can run pretty fast at the end of the chase) While Ren is trying to get dressed he still has time to light a smoke. The video seems to be shot in one go and the simplicity of it does not distract from the intense lyrics and forceful music. Themes of drug references, angels and demons, dentist taking out teeth and the Soup and crouton certainly means the lyrics are interesting.

However the lyrics that stand out the most to me are

I’m on track to be the bеst one ever, Fuck a label man, We’re Killing it, We’re doing it better.

Honestly it makes me angry the way the music business works these days. There is no mention in any of the so called Top music magazines that should be looking out and promoting this talent. Especially in the UK, if Aussie blogs are writing about it why are they not? Proof is there, the are killing it and doing better with the stats that they have with these two songs.

The song starts at 10.37 on the same day with an amazing bass riff and Ren’s amazing vocals. As I soon as I heard the lyrics

“I played the cards that I was dealt – My hand was bad but I’m a fucking lion in this bitch“

I knew I would connect the the song. I also loved the changes in the song, there are changes in tempo to keep your interest as if the beat and Ren’s vocal’s were not enough! ‘CTRL ALT DELETE’ just flows and the use of horns makes a great addition. The simple style video with the Camera man shadow also added to the fun. I look forward to to what comes next. This is definitely my fav one out of the two I would love to write more but the fatigue has set in.
