50 CENT RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘GET LOW’
THE FIRST TASTE FROM HIS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ALBUM
STREET KING IMMORTAL
Grammy and 16-time Billboard Music award-winning rapper 50 Cent has released
‘Get Low’ (feat. Jeremih, T.I. and 2 Chainz), the hypnotic lead single and first taste
of his highly-anticipated forthcoming sixth studio album Street King Immortal.
Produced by Remo the Hitmaker, ‘Get Low’ is the first new music from Curtis “50
Cent” Jackson in over a year which has been welcomed back fervently with the track
being streamed over 3 million times since its release. Calling on some of the biggest
names in hip hop, Jeremih’s smooth drawling falsetto, along with T.I. and 2 Chainz,
who each drop a verse on the track, ‘Get Low’ showcases a sound reminiscent of
hip hop in the earlier 00’s, with hints of seductive vocals combined with heavy kicking
bass, all an immediate reminder of how important 50 Cent still is to hip hop around
the world.
‘Get Low’ was brought to the live stage for the first time on Friday night, with 50
Cent & G-Unit performing to a 20,000-strong crowd at London’s O2 Arena, a
performance which The Guardian (UK) called “a solid show,” explaining, “The
definitive quality of his music is its bounce. When he and G-Unit line up, rhyme and
croon, there’s unmistakably something of the doo-wop group about them… a smiling
entertainer.”
As well as commanding a highly impressive rap career, 50 Cent is also CEO of GUnit
Records, a role that sees him oversee a stellar roster of music artists, many of
which have garnered multi RIAA certified platinum status under his aegis including
Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. Laying his energies in G-Unit Records in recent
times, 50 Cent last year returned to music after a five year break, releasing the
polarising guerrilla street album, Animal Ambition.
After first exploding onto the music scene in 2003 as Eminem’s protégé, acclaimed
rapper 50 Cent has re-written hip hop history ever since, forging an impressively
successful music career, boasting over 30 million album sales worldwide and
numerous accolades including 13 Grammy nominations over the years. Through
his classic collaborations, releases with iconic hip-hop group G-Unit and hip-hop and
gangsta rap label G-Unit Records, he has made a significant contribution to the
global rap scene and helped pave the way for countless artists.
‘Get Low’ is available now on iTunes, Spotify and other digital outlets
