Spectral Fires announce new single ‘Headstrong’ to be released November 15th 2015

Melbourne melodic hardcore/punk band Spectral Fires have announced they will bereleasing their anticipated new single on November 15.

Recorded at Basin Productions with Matt D’Arcy (Rob Farnham, Rival Fire, The Deep End, Red Ink and more), Spectral Fires’ third studio release features the band’s trademark emotional sincerity and hard hitting energy, confirming them as one of Melbourne’s more creative and exciting melodic hardcore acts on the scene.

SFThe single comes off the back of their latest two-track ‘Attrition || Progression’ which was released

in April 2015 to an overwhelmingly positive reception and earned the band widespread airplay on

Triple J’s Short.Fast.Loud. The band hasn’t slowed down since, touring relentlessly across

Australia’s east coast in support as well as releasing their debut music video for ‘Progression

(Scares Me Fierce)’, somehow finding time to head back into the studio for one more release

before year’s end.

Bursting onto the scene in 2013 with their debut EP ‘Old Haunts’, Spectral Fires is a high-energy

melodic hardcore/punk band from the south-east suburbs of Melbourne. Through their distinctly

original take on emotive hardcore, Spectral Fires have quickly carved themselves a respectable

place among their peers, having shared the stage with the likes of Dream On, Dreamer, Belle

Haven, Antagonist AD, Glorified, Love Alone and many more.

“This is solid stuff! Loud, urgent and anguished.” (Dave Ruby Howe, TripleJ Unearthed)

“‘ATTRITION || PROGRESSION’ is two tracks of pure post-hardcore genius.” (Jen Rees,

Music Injection)

“On ‘Old Haunts’… Spectral Fires have really found the perfect merger between indie rock

and ballsy punk. 4/5 stars.” (Mike Korn)
