Rocklahoma Preview- Five Finger Death Punch New Album- Renewed Spirit
Following a good deal of controversy last year and rumors circulating the internet, it’s not surprising that at more than one show, Ivan L. Moody lead the crowd in a “Fuck TMZ” cheer. With the aptly titled new album, “Got your Six”, Five Finger Death Punch seems to be clicking as a band again.
Having covered them for multiple shows in the last five years, there is appears to be a renewed spirit to them onstage. In their last few sets, they seem to actually be having fun again. During their set at Rockville they were very tight and it was thrilling for all. Possibly the funniest moment was during his call to create a mosh pit bigger than Lamb of God, Ivan instructed the lighting guy to “Get that spotlight of me, I ain’t Axl Rose”. The crowd went crazy.
For as much as they rock out, act tough and have hard hitting lyrics, they have really kind
hearts. One of the sweetest moments at Carolina rebellion was when Allison Hodge, a twelve year old with leukemia, took the stage with Ivan. Earlier this year, Zoltan and Chris participated in a benefit bowling event for the Downs Syndrome Foundation of Florida. That full interview is forthcoming. They also work closely with the Wounded Warrior Project and many other charities.
Immediately following the summer festival season, and a European stint, this touring machine will begin co-headlining a stadium tour with Shinedown, and along with supporting act Sixx AM, promise to put on an even bigger show.
The run begins on October 18th in Little Rock, Arkansas and runs through North America until December. FFDP will headline the main at Rocklahoma, in Pryor, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 29th.
