Northlane and In Hearts Wake, The Equinox Tour Adelaide Review by Nathaniel

As the days turned to hours and the hours turned to minutes I think I speak for everyone when I say we all knew that this tour was going to be something special. As the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide filled with fans that were ready for a night of great Aussie metal, we all waited for Melbourne head bangers Ocean Grove to give us everything they had.

Ocean Grove left the whole crowd head banging showing that good bands can come out of Melbourne. They also gave out the energy and the crowd gave it right back. They have a sound that I have never heard before. They sound so unique and fresh and for a fairly new band they have their sound sorted out and a very bright future ahead of them.

Hands like Houses proved that even being the least heavy band playing that night, they can still get the whole crowd moving. From amazing sing-alongs to surprise breakdowns from their new album. Their set was very diverse, it started new and heavy and finished with their old stuff and it shows just how much a band can change and still sound amazing. They were a perfect choice to get the crowd ready for what was about to come.
I think everyone was a little curious how this next section was going to work. There were 2 drums on stage and a white back ground which even up till In Hearts Wake walked on stage, still left us guessing. But after In Hearts Wake walked out on stage and absolutely blew everyone away with their hard hitting riffs and beautiful sing-alongs it left only a few seconds for everyone to recover before Northlane walked on and got the crowd moving for their hard hitting set that left everyone with their mouths open. And before you could say “Is this when they play Equinox?” In Hearts Wake were back on stage. They alternated back and forth playing for about 20 minutes before swapping. After swapping twice each it was finally time to see 2 bands play together.
10 people on stage at one time from two different bands seemed unheard of, but these two bands proved everyone wrong and killed it. It truly was something everyone should have been there to see, this part of the set showed both how well the two bands worked together and also how different each band is, I can’t say enough good things about this tour.
I think anybody who went and saw this tour will remember this tour for the rest of their lives, both the bands and their fans.
