Sentia’s debut, four track EP ‘Origins’ will be available on August 12 online and physically at their launch show held at the Evelyn Hotel, Melbourne.

Written in Hong Kong, lyrically Hydroflow deals with feelings of insecurity, vulnerability and forbidden desire amidst the breakdown of a relationship all while being enchanted by a strange, foreign land.

The track delivers on these themes through the use of wet guitars, hypnotics percussion and reversed vocals building to an explosion of noise and passion three quarters through the song.

Hydroflow came about from one of our many james, one of those loose ideas that begin as a blur but eventually start to make sense. We knew this would be a song that was a little more delicate, ” said self-taught drummer, Chris.

Earlier this year, in February, the group released self-produced single Feast of Fools nabbing the number nine spot on the triple j Unearthed Charts.

Further back Sentia’s 2013 three track release ‘Satallites’ landed them in triple j Unearthed’s Top 10 Rock Charts.

Formed in 2011 with guitarist Jason King, bassist Daniel King and vocalist Amos Phillips, the band has since expanded in scope and arrangement introducing Chris Bodin on drums and Pete Kyvelos on keys in 2014.

Drawing from a wide range of influences across different members including Tool, Circa Survive, Jeff Buckley, Incubus, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Roots, the band can be described as a heavy take on The Temper Trap.

The group has also played alongside and supported legends of the heavy music industry Jericco, Sounds of Sirus, Engine 37 and Gay Paris.

Sentia will also be bringing their unique ambient prog-rock sound to Habitat HQ on Friday August 12, Music Man in Bendigo on Friday September 9 and The Worldsend Hotel in Adelaide Saturday September 17.
