Joe Nolan’s new single ‘If All Love is Lit’ showcases his beautiful vocal sound. When listening via my headphones laying on my bed, it feels that he is singing just to me. He has that knack of making the listener be fully immersed in his music. The more I listen the more I feel the intense emotion in his voice and the meaning. I love the laid back music that gently supports the vocals. In fact I love everything about ‘If All Love is Lit’. I will be adding this to my 2021 Fav’s.

Joe Nolan spent 2019 touring Europe and played over 170 live shows. Everything was going his way, having a signed with
agent Mongrel Music Agency (Chuck Prophet, Lake Street Dive), signed record deals with Rootsy Records in Sweden (John Prine, Patty Griffin, Anderson East) and Fallen Tree Records in Canada (100 mile house, T. Buckley).

Then COVID 19 hit. Luckily for Joe, the pandemic actually gave him artistic energy that he put to good use and wrote 11 songs that now form his new album Scrapper. These songs are made up of his struggles career wise and personal turmoil. One of these 11 songs is ‘If All Love is Lit. Take a listen here.

Jen got the chance to ask Joe his Top 5 songs that kept him sane through 2021:

Leif Vollebekk – Transatlantic flight

Big Thief – Little Things

Mark Goldenberg – Luftmensch

Bob Dylan – Murder Most Foul

Bully – Prism
