Blake Morgan has just dropped a brilliant follow up single ‘My Love is Waiting ‘ after “Down Below Or Up Above” from his album ‘Violent Delights,‘. You can read my review of that song here. ‘My Love is Waiting’ is not the usual love song as it is focused around a person, it is about his love for New York, where he was born. I love Blake’s vocal sound, and how the lyrics are descriptive, really explaining how he feels about his beloved New York. Supporting that is the music video that genre-bending filmmaker Alice Teeple who Blake worked with on his music video for ‘Down Below Or Up Above’. The concept for the video was inspired by iconic films like William Friedkin’s The French Connection and Jules Dassin’s The Naked City. Shot in only two places, Coney Island and the subway, the video supports the song’s expression of love for the city. Another great release from Blake, well worth listening to, and of course watching!
