2016 has been a busy year for Melbourne artist Ben Townsend, better known to you and me as the quick witted rapper Ivan Ooze. After the successful release of his first single ‘Hooligans’ from the March release of his ’93 KFC Rotisserie’ Mixtape, Ooze headed out on the national arena tour as the direct support for the legendary Wu Tang Clan.

Not taking for granted the opportunity, Ooze and his crew bought a live performance to the stage that rivaled the legends themselves which in turn garnered him public praise from the Clan. After fostering a solid relationship with Ghostface Killah over the course of the tour, the obvious evolution was for the two to do a track together…cue the new track ‘Bills’ – the lead single from Ivan’s highly anticipated EP.

With the single having premiered with Dom Alessio on Tuesday’s Home and Hosed, the summer anthem with the signature Ivan Ooze fire is also a tale of hard work and sacrifice to which he is no stranger. The catchy Mad Bliss beat carries Ivan’s spitfire lyrics with Ghost entering stage right towards the end of the track, bringing that old school energy.

To celebrate, Ivan and his crew will embark on a 7 date national tour that includes Sydney’s The Plot festival. In toe for the tour will be experimental hip hop artist Lyall Moloney. With the release of this new single and impending EP, 2016 is not slowing down for the Melbourne rapper and we have it on good authority that there is more just around the corner. Ivan Ooze is sure to be occupying your airwaves, feeds and streets real soon.   ‘BILLS’ is out today and available from all usual outlets.
