TOBiAS RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘WHEN THE SUN COMES UP AGAIN’ NEW ALBUM ‘ALIVE’ – OUT NOW PERFORMING AT WOODFORD FOLK FESTIVAL

 As Tobias continues his East Coast tour of Australia, finishing up with performances as this year’s Woodford Folk Festival, the folktronic artist has today released his third single ‘When The Sun Comes Up Again’, taken from his second studio album ‘Alive’ (out now).

 “When The Sun Comes Up Again is a driving song.  It’s a song about getting out of the city, getting on the road and experiencing this beautiful country of ours, meeting new people and waking up in amazing places. Something I continue to do and will keep doing”.

 Recorded at A Pocket Full of Stones studio in Point Lonsdale (Port Phillip Bay) and co-produced by Nick Huggins, ‘When The Sun Comes Up Again’, is a ‘longing to escape’ folk rock track, which follows on from previous singles ‘Just a Boy’ (click here) and ‘Live Your Life’ (click here) – featured on his new album ‘Alive’ (out now). 

Alive’ follows on from his 2015 debut album ‘Toby Robinson’, where he explored some of his passion for folk music and Australian history.  ‘Alive’ is more personal – “Alive sums it up in a word, alive as a songwriter, alive to these experiences, feeling the grief and then finally feeling that things are going to work out. It can take courage to get up there and share so much of yourself in your stories and your songs but it’s what I should be doing.”

 Tobias took the long way around to get to the place he always needed to be, but all the experiences along the way have been invaluable.  He studied history and anthropology at LaTrobe University in Melbourne, immersed himself in traditional music on the west coast of Ireland, playing in bands trying his hand at everything from grunge to ska, and saw at first-hand the dedication it took to be a professional musician while touring with some of Australia’s greatest songwriters. Tobias’ return to where he grew up on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland opened a deep creative well and helped him realise he was finally doing exactly what he should be doing, writing songs and sharing them with the world.
