For a taste, you can check out a performance of their song “I Hate My Stepdad” or listen to their music on soundcloud:

When you guys were growing up did you want to be in a serious band or always knew you wanted to do something a little differently?

Kyle: We’ve always been freaks, rebels, outcasts, weirdos, zeros, nobody’s, losers, and revolutionaries. We think our music is extremely serious because we are serious about causing chaos, making a fuss, and being insane teens who can’t be controlled. We are serious about being different, and all the kids at school know that and are extremely afraid of us. Also we are communists.

Anna: I always knew we were gonna be different. We didn’t try to be different. We just knew that when we were together we were special. Being different means saying no to things that people tell you to do. All the time. I never listen to what anyone says. I don’t listen.

CARLY: I think we are definitely serious, but we sing about dumb adults and they will always be funny(/ANNOYING!!) My other dream, and I’m not sure if you are asking this, is to make cartoons for a living (specifically anime).

Kyle, I really feel for your parents! I get what you are saying Anna that you did not try to be different. After high school you will be surrounded by people with the same interests and never see the popular kids again! In regards to not listening I also now feel sorry for your parents and teachers!

Can you guys tell me if your parents have being pulling their hair out having you guys as their children and the unlucky teachers that have you? Being a part time teacher that was my first thought!

Kyle: Oh my god dealing with us is a complete nightmare!!! We hate all our teachers and our parents!! My earth science teacher, Dr. Dowling, had to quit because I had a universal remote and I kept playing Ichi the Killer on the TV in the classroom and he couldn’t figure out how to turn it off. We are completely impossible to deal with!

Can you explain in your own words (well if you say them then of course they are) what you guys are doing for 6 months ?

Kyle: We are doing a monthly show at the magnet theater for 6 months. This show will be part music, and part theater. And each month we will have a different esteemed guest from New York’s comedy and theater community. We will also debut a new song every month.

Great new music! Please share each time you add a song, Can I ask the theme for the next one? Now you have crossed off I hate my Step Dad could it be about hating your home town perhaps?

Kyle: OMG yes we hate our hometown! It’s a suburban hellhole and we can’t wait to get the hell out of there and move to New York for keeps!!! We don’t have a theme necessarily for our next show, but I guess we can safely say that it will be about the torment of youth and chaos of life.

You guys are not new to the comedy scene with your unique take on music, can you highlight some of the best shows you have done?

Kyle: We have all been house team performers at the Magnet Theater for many years. In addition we’ve performed all around the country at the Boston Comedy Arts Festival, New York Sketchfest, Cinder Block Comedy Festival and New York Comic-Con.

CARLY: We did this show at a bar in Williamsburg really late at night. The vibe was really crazy and I had like a hundred and ten degree fever or something like that, and we followed this act where the guy literally left the stage to go to the bathroom. It was so weird but we crushed it and then I went home and slept for 18 hours. I’m writing an anime about it.

SWEET! Now that I would like to see Carly!

I saw this on your facebook…

Albums that made me feel dope in high school

  1. Blink-182: Enema of the state
  2.  My Chemical Romance: Welcome to the Black Parade
  3.  Jimmy Eat World: Clarity
  4. Taking Back Sunday: Tell All Your Friends
  5.  The Story So Far: What You Don’t See
  6. . Alkaline Trio: Maybe I’ll Catch Fire
  7.  Fall Out Boy: Take This To Your Grave
  8.  Title Fight: Floral Green
  9.  Forever the Sickest Kids: Underdog Alma Mater
  10.  Brand New: Deja Entendu

I still listen to this music! Does this mean I am dope now? Haha. Esp Blink, Jimmy Eat World and Fall out Boy. I mean Lucky Denver Mint and Sweetness by JEW are still some of my fav songs ever.

Kyle: YES THAT ONE HUNDRED PERCENT MEANS YOU ARE A DOPE PSYCHO TEEN LATCH-KEY KID JUST LIKE US. IT ALSO MEANS THAT YOU PROBABLY LIKE INVADER ZIM RERUNS, GUNDAM, AND PLAY KINGDOM HEARTS.

CARLY: These are all great picks. Ur definitely dope. ALSO!!! KMFDM was cool, they were a German metal band and one of their songs was used in the Street Fighter anime.

Ha not sure that I am Dope or just that I like what I like and don’t really want to explore new music as much. Except when my fav bands release more music and luckily for me they all are!

Your song “I Hate My Stepdad” has some great funny lyrics to take off pop punk bands, have you had any feedback from other bands?

Kyle: WELL PETE WENTZ IS AN ASSHOLE WON’T RETURN ANY OF MY EMAILS, BUT I AM IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH TOM DELONGE BUT ALL HE EVER WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IS CHEMTRAILS. STILL SICK THOUGH!

Gregg: We got a “cease and desist” order from 3 Doors Down because we were making them feel lame. Sorry you poser jocks! You made your bed, now DIE in it.

hahaha. Your music video for your song “I Hate My Stepdad” Kyle sure gets the dancing and moves correct that a pop punk band would do, did that take practice?

Kyle: ONE SUMMER MY PARENTS GROUNDED ME FOR A WHOLE SUMMER BECAUSE I TOOK A DUMP ON GREG DIPIETRO’S CAR AND HIS MOM CALLED THE COPS ON ME. THEY PRETTY MUCH WOULDN’T LET ME OUT OF THE HOUSE THE WHOLE SUMMER. IT WAS HORRIBLE BUT I SPENT THE SUMMER LISTENING TO MXPX AND RUNNING INTO WALLS. THAT’S HOW I LEARNED TO DANCE.

I love MXPX! One of my original pop punk loves. I have met them a few times and interviewed them. I never ran into walls listening to them but did start to play the bass due to Chick Magnet.

CARLY: I have literally seen Kyle do those moves while asleep on a bus.

How did you see them if you were asleep? Haha

Carly: hahaha no Kyle was asleep. It was good seeing him dancing in his sleep cuz he usually has horrible night terrors that get violent lol but seriously its scary.

Ah I see. I watched another one of your videos when Kyle said this is not for the Jocks, or the Class President, this is for the Freaks, the Weirdos, the Losers, the outcasts, that is freakishly like a Simple Plan Song. (one of my fav bands ever) is that how you were perceived in High school?

Kyle: 100% YES.

Justin: This is a true story I used to be cool and I was voted president of my class sophomore year of HS.  Then I was literally impeached for going against the mainstream and I’ve been a rebel ever since.

JUSTIN! How are you, you are very quiet, I am glad that you jumped in to answer this question. Are you always the quieter one or is it that the others talk over you? Rebels rule and the way that this world is going we need more rebels.

Justin: We’ve been best friends for a really long time, so even though I don’t talk that much on stage, I don’t feel like my voice isn’t heard.  The great thing about My Dark Little Corner is we have each other’s back 100%.  All of our songs are a complete collaboration, musically and lyrically.  So while I may be quiet, My Dark Little Corner is my way of screaming in rebellion.

Can you tell us in 7 words why people would head to see your comedy show in New York? I would but it is well a looooooooong way to come over!

Kyle: WE WILL LITERALLY RIOT IN THE STREETS

CARLY: One of us is an actual ghost!

Gregg: We are freaks and so are you!

Justin: Don’t scream alone, scream with your friends.

Love it! I wish you well for your show and your future. Keep making people laugh, we need more of that these days more than ever.

CARLY: YEAH! Fuck Trump! Thanks, Jen!

Yep that is what I was meaning! I try not to get political on my site but it is only two small words that you said not me!

Thanks guys!
