Philip Brooks releases new single ‘Can’t Fix The Things I Left Behind’.
London-based dream-pop multi-instrumentalist Philip Brooks has released a gem of a single called ‘Can’t Fix The Things I Left Behind’. This thought provoking song was penned during a night of overthinking events and anxiety of how he felt he stuffed up. Philip states: “At one point I just went “fuck this” and threw those distorted guitars in the track, and screamed the vocals lying on my living room floor, just trying to get it all out of my head somehow.” This song is definitely from the heart. Listening to ‘Can’t Fix The Things I Left Behind’ the panic attack that Philip was feeling is evident. This song is relatable to all that have had relationship breakdown, the emotions and lyrics explore the up and down’s of reflection. The amazing vocal is perfect to get the song’s meaning across, the verses are soft and reflective and the chorus they lift for more impact. A cleverly written song that will assist listeners to introspectively consider their own downfalls when it comes to relationships. ‘Can’t Fix The Things I Left Behind’ is the third single from his debut album ‘Half Alive In A Dream’. I look forward to hearing more from Philip Brooks in the future. Take a listen here.
‘Can’t Fix The Things I Left Behind’ is the third insight into freshly announced debut EP ‘Half Alive In A Dream”, to be celebrated with a release show at Paper Dress Vintage on November 27th.
