Danish/Scottish indie rockers Gatsby used the time in lockdown creatively and worked on their second full length album ‘How to hide in Public’. The musical project Gatsby started way back in 1999, released their first album in 2002 and played that decade, in pubs and Festivals.
‘Payload’ was written based around a hammond organ riff which gives the song and unique edge. Lyrically it explores how one can be bad for another person, and even though it is really difficult, let that person go. “Hanging around your neck so you can’t run away” Easy to say, very hard to do. Well written lyrics. The vocals are unique and I really love their sound. I have been singing this song in my head since I first heard it. In a good way, lucky I love the song! Take a listen to ‘Payload’ here.
