Avenged Seven Fold Is Back
A7X makes its first stop on this leg of the “Life Is But A Dream” Tour at Ithink Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach Florida. and it was a triumphant return. A7X is back baby!
As noted by many people last night I was actually wearing a band t shirt. It’s not that I don’t buy them. I have a whole collection. Most nights I will pick up something, but I also don’t like to choose whose shirt I wear on what night. With multiple artists playing I just wear what’s comfortable and save them for later. This night, however, I was wearing the A7X shirt circa 2009. I really like this band. They happen to be the first festival appearance I went to with my then teenage son, who is almost thirty now. I’ve been cheering for these moments ever since.
This as been a pretty hectic year. Touring is massive with so many bands taking advantage of the enthusiasm of the live music starved fans needing this outlet. Ithink Financial Amphitheater has had some great shows this season and they keep coming. Last night’s weather was incredible. There was a gorgeous sunset as well.
Australian performance artist Kim Dracula opened the show. If you haven’t heard this artist, you need to. Admittedly, I had to do some research before the show, I checked out the cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”, which was released in 2020, and I really liked it. While there is rap integrated in the songs, there’s also an incredible voice that goes with it.

While the rest of the band has adopted the yet another wear mask on stage and be incognito, Kim Dracula, whose birth name is Samuel Wellings, is definitely noticeable. Dressed down in black pants and and Adidas shirt, but with purple hair, this is one entrancing performer. Having only been on the scene since 2020 and gaining notoriety via TikTok, this twenty five year old could see booming success in the US market from this tour alone. I would really like to see more. Falling In Reverse brought in a good, although not photographer friendly, performance. The lighting was sporadic. ( I heard it was pretty from the back.) The huge long riser along the front to the stage prevented clean shots of the rest of the band with only Ronnie Radke spending an extended period on it.

Overall Radke connected with the crowd and the reaction was welcoming and encouraging. See set list here:
Avenged Sevenfold started the set with an extended intro. Which kept the crowd in suspense building excitement. M. Shadows appeared performing the first song, “Game Over” in a ski mask from a chair. When he ripped off the mask the crowd went wild.

By the time they got to the third song “After Life”, the crowd was pumped and ready. The vocals.were strong and consistent. It didn’t feel as if any time had passed. Hearing the fans singing at deafening levels brought chills of excitement. It was a solid performance and a full sixteen song set. I highly recommend seeing this show.
