Sammy Hagar Kicks Off The Best Of All Worlds Tour
Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, Jason Bonham brought a super charged set to Ithink Amphitheater, West Palm Beach Florida
Despite a few opening hiccups, the first show in a long list of tour dates went on a long bender of songs from beginning to end. People have been starving for the classic Mtv era music for some time now. Sammy Hagar doesn’t phone it in either. He makes all of us look lazy.

Let’s be honest he is among an elite group of people who don’t have to tour anymore. It’s clear this tour is about fun and a love of fans and the people who are sharing the stage. With several liquor brands (Beach Bar Rum, Santo – a partnership with Guy Fieri, Beach bar canned beverages and their predecessor Cabo Wabo) He’s doing just fine.

The evening started with a montage of all the different paths the Red Rocker has taken throughout his career. It has been quite a path. He has been a staple in the American diet of rock and roll since 1973. Even skeptics must admit to have the type of legacy he has created there has to be something there. By the time the set kicked off with Good Enough it was clear we were in for one hell of a ride. He went on at 8:20 PM a bit early. Playing a 21 song set list take time.
The stage itself was a who’s who of legendary proportions. Micheal Anthony holding down the bass as he had for some many years with Van Halen, was incredible. Just seemed delighted to be back out there and we were as well. His smile was infectious. Joe Satriani was the perfect choice to pay homage to guitar legend Eddie Van Halen. Joe is an unbelievable virtuoso Downright mesmerizing at times. It was certainly a tribute to both talents. Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, is a foremost drummer in his own right and a perfect choice to hold this incredible group together.
It is refreshing to see a group not be caught up in scandal, back tracking allegations, members in turmoil, just a celebration of 51 years of music. If you haven’t done the math, it is probably longer than many of my readers have been alive, possibly even their parents. Yet it felt as if no time had passed.

When Sammy popped open the tequila and shared it with the front row along with a rousing version of ” Mas Tequila” including a very loud sing along, I knew the night was just getting better. He made sure to remind everyone of the years nearly every song was a hit. It was an amazing retrospective of the power of rock and roll. There was even a few bars of a sing along to “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang. He is a powerhouse. I’m exhausted.
If this tour is coming to your town or anywhere near you, I highly recommend it. Even if you don’t think you are familiar with every hit, I promise you will hear a number of songs you recognize and go home way more tired than the people on the stage.
