Summer Of Loud Makes First Stop In West Palm Beach

Labelled the blockbuster tour this show features: The Devil Wears Prada, Killswitch Engage, Beartooth, Parkway Drive, I Prevail, and  Support Artists Alpha Wolf and TX2 at this stop. All dates are below.

One night, seven bands and 92 degrees at the 3 o’clock PM showtime had everyone asking: ‘How much pyro is too much pyro?’. Joking of course, is there such a thing for this show.  Nope.  While I may have questioned my decisions about still doing outdoor shows in the summer time, it was, in the end, a great decision.

Notwithstanding, the show last month that was a carry over from the brutal hurricane season in Florida, I haven’t had very many outside gigs lately, and it has certainly left me quite a bit less acclimated to the heat.  I honestly felt sorry for a couple of artists before the sun went down.  You see, if you don’t live in this hot, wet blanket environment, it can be tough.

The good news is, it didn’t seem to phase any of the artists that put on the performances.  With TX2 taking the stage at 3 o’clock to I Prevail ending the show by the noise curfew of prior to 11 o’clock, every didn’t just get through it, they excelled.  If you’re looking for a nice best of and new music set with incredibly short breaks in between, look no further.

No long waits, decently intimate setting and on point sound highlight the tour.  A consummate group of professionals that surrounded themselves with great support.  This was one of the smaller shows. Early tour ones are sometimes the case.  Florida can be a tough crowd anyway.  Sometimes, it’s walk up ticket buying and upgrades.  We have a pretty prolific scene here and sometimes even I have to make a hard choice of which show to see.  I suggest this one if you are fans of this genre.

TX2 and Alpha Wolf each had short but strong sets.  Each lasting 25 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively. The Devil Wears Prada and The Amity Affliction, 45 and Beartooth, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive and I Prevail with 50 Minutes.  All good festival sized sets

With Killswitch Engage and others offering new music links throughout this article.

This is definitely a show to be watched from a bit further back. Visually, that’s where the impact lies. Including the rotating, fire surrounded drum kit of Parkway Drive’s Ben Gordon.
