Sam has a strong background in the music industry having writing credits that include Rihanna’s ‘Numb’, Wale and Miguel’s ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’ and Jessie Ware’s gorgeous track ‘Sweetest Song’ as well as features on Skrillex’s ‘Stranger’ and Wale’s ‘Love HateThing’.
Sam, managed by Roc Nation, sights Marvin Gaye, Radiohead, Bjork, Curtis Mayfield,Earth Wind & Fire, and Beck as references and has already drawn comparisons to the likes of a futuristic Frank Ocean, Miguel or The Weeknd.
His “Damn Sue” EP unexpectedly grew from an inspiring creative connection Sam experienced recording with producer David Sitek. Best known as a member of the band TV on the Radio, David has also worked with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, Foals,Celebration and Little Dragon.
The “Damn Sue” EP is set for release on April 7th and is a clever play on Sam’s name.
Two tracks from the EP have already surfaced with ‘Desperately’ and ‘Air’ premiering on Pigeons & Planes and Hypetrak respectively
