Full US Tour With Foxing Begins March 3rd

Triple Crown Records have just announced their newest signing, Adjy. The indie six-piece will be releasing their EP Prelude (.3333) through Triple Crown on March 4th.  Pre-orders are now available through Bandcamp and iTunes

Oftentimes, products are marketed as newer, more colorful, different than the whitewash background it stands against. Almost as often, those products aren’t as contrasted as advertised, if at all. It’s possible though, that Cleveland, TN’s Adjy might actually possess that contrast.

Adjy is the brainchild of lead singer and principle songwriter Christopher Noyes, George Rutsyamuka, Kaeli Riccardi, Abbey Go, Alex Smith, and Austin Smith.  Their self-released first full length – a layered, percussive, keyboard-driven venture called Grammatology (2014) – recalls songwriting akin to the likes of Joanna Newsom and Anathallo. Shortly thereafter, the band released a 2-song EP entitled Another Flammarion Woodcut (Broken Circles, 2015) that saw the band expanding upon its initial release in a more organic, percussive fashion.

A quick perusal of Adjy’s short discography shows a band very obviously very indebted to its art. The labor and intensity injected into their songwriting is palpable in songs like Another Flammarion Woodcut’s moving Hyperthymesia – but even then, it’s only a pale representation when compared to their palpitating, exhilarating live show. Now members of Triple Crown Records, Adjy looks to continue producing the unique energy they’ve come to be known for with Prelude (.3333). Adjy has already painted shadows between themselves and their background, but 2016 only looks to lengthen them.
