Gold Coast hard hitting five-piece, Evol Walks, have signed a worldwide management deal with Los Angeles based Managers, Rick Sales and Adam Mott of Rick Sales Entertainment.
The signing is a significant step forward for the band who have spent the past twelve months touring up and down the American West Coast.
Rick Sales boasts an impressive roster of talent that includes Slayer, Mastodon, Ghost, Gojira and We Came as Romans.
Fronted by Gold Coast born and bred Leah Martin-Brown, it was a performance at the Viper Room in West Hollywood in 2015 that caught Rick’s attention though it wasn’t until he attended the band’s subsequent performance in April this year at the Musexpo Music Conference that he decided to put pen to paper and sign the band.
“It is a dream come true for us to be signed by a company with a reputation as incredible as Rick, Adam and the team at Rick Sales Entertainment,” says Leah. “Never in our wildest dreams did we ever think we would be sharing a manager with heavyweights like Slayer, Gojira and Ghost and we are very excited for the future and what this will mean for Evol Walks.”
“Rick Sales Entertainment is very pleased to welcome Evol Walks to our roster,” said Rick Sales. “It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with one of Australia’s most exciting up and coming singers, Leah. She is a gifted artist, with a unique voice that totally captivates everyone in the audience. Evol Walks’ future looks very promising, and we cannot wait for it.”
Having exploded on to the music scene in 2014 with their debut single “Heartbreakin’ Woman”, the five-piece have been turning heads ever since – not just in Australia but across the globe. Having largely been based in Los Angeles, Evol Walks have performed at popular Sunset Strip (Hollywood, USA) hangs such as House Of Blues, The Rainbow Room, The Whisky a Go Go and The Viper Room, and have been aptly crowned as a band to watch by industry peers.
2015 saw the band release their debut EP also helmed by Brian Howes which spawned the singles “Buzzed” (February 2015 – which was considered one of the top 4 releases to commercial radio by The Music Network the week of its radio release) and “The Other Side” (August 2015 – which was also the title track of the EP released September 2015). All singles have been embraced by the Triple M network.
The band also toured Australia twice including supporting The Lazy’s, touring the USA West Coast and were also primed as one of the “Top 4 Best Up and Coming Bands in Australia” for 2015 by Triple M during their Rocktober promotion. It didn’t stop there. The band, in the midst of a European tour, were invited to perform on the main stage at Europe’s largest outdoor music festival in front of 250,000 people at Przystanek Woodstock in Poland alongside Black Label Society, Flogging Molly and Dream Theatre. Evol Walks are only the second Australian band ever to be invited to perform on the main stage – the other being fellow heavyweights Airbourne – it is a huge cudos for a band in their youth.
Collecting influence from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and AC/DC to name a few, it’s not hard to hear how Evol Walks got to their organic blistering guitar riffs and raw powerful female vocals, thus creating the ultimate Rock n Roll blend.
Whilst continuing to perform shows in Los Angeles, Evol Walks are currently in the recording studio working on new material for their upcoming EP due for release in early 2017.
“Evol Walks are more than ready to take over the world music scene – especially if their spirited live performance are indicative of greater glories ahead. Front woman Leah Martin-Brown is wondrously charismatic, delivering the fiery lyrics with a commanding sense of depth and conviction. In addition to Ms. Martin-Brown’s bewitching performance, the resourceful musicianship found within Evol Walks stuns the senses. Prepare to be thoroughly swept away by one of the most explosive new bands within the Los Angeles music scene today” – High Wire Daze.com
“Evol Walks is the kind of a** kicking rock and roll that makes the genre so g***amn worth it” – Two Metal Guys
“If Green Day and Joan Jett had a child it would be Evol Walks” – Jon Lee, HKG FM
