Born in the ancient city of Adis Ababa in Ethiopia and adopted out to Australia as a young child, TeeNoah – Tarik Noah as he is formally known – has used music as his way to spread his message of love, life and self-discovery.
The 26-year-old’s commitment to music is inspiring having quit his run of the mill job as a lawyer for Australia’s Supreme Court earlier this year to concentrate on his journey in to music, quite a fitting narrative for his next single ‘Believe’.
Through his work as a lawyer, TeeNoah was on a private mission to discover the immutable laws that govern man’s life on Earth and the secrets to his happiness. “It was in furtherance of this intention that I quit my corporate job and decided that music was the best way to share my journey, in a consumable way, to those that would care to listen”.
‘Believe’, as TeeNoah describes, is “inspired by my leaving that 9 to 5 to pursue my crazy dream which promises nothing and my new found understanding that the ultimate objective for us all is the same, to know love, to be loved and to give love.”
TeeNoah is an optimist at heart. Taking inspiration by artists including Nas, James Brown, J Cole, Kendrick, Eminem, the late great 2Pac and the culture of art and life in general, don’t be so quick to pigeonhole him as just another hip-hop wannabe. TeeNoah ingests soul and charisma in to his lyrics and is already being vocally applauded by critics who describe his voice to “resonate with sage wisdom and experience” (LifeWithoutAndy.com) for a man of such young age.
His debut EP titled ‘Out of My Mind’ was released on August 28 2017 which has amassed over 52,000 plays on Spotify. Many fans took to lead single ‘Indigo’ which garnered peer reviews such as “Frank Ocean circa Nostalgia”, “promising stuff” and a “dope track. Very, very soulful AND catchy!”
With his eyes firmly set on his mission to become a world rapper by name, TeeNoah’s self-belief and hope for the world set’s him apart on the path to make an impact and his mark on the world. “I want others to be brave, like this journey will require of me, and live the life they imagined. That through self-belief and self-knowledge the impossible becomes possible.”
In the words of TeeNoah, “love and you will have arrived at your destination.”
‘Believe’ will be available across all digital platforms on Monday November 13. TeeNoah will launch ‘Believe’ at the Flying Cock in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley (Australia) on Friday December 22.
“Believe” is available Monday November 13 2017 on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer and Soundcloud
