DIET release a cracker of a song “Forget About It”

Great local talent from Melbourne combine a sweet music video with a song that gets stuck in your head in a good way!

DIET released their first single for 2018 with “Forget About It”. Following on from their synth laden, heartfelt love letter in “Take Me”, the Melbourne band are starting the year with this old school indie-rock floor filler! The upbeat little banger wastes no time as frontman Ben wonders why anyone would even question smashing up the piggy bank if it meant missing out on a good time!? Spend some money, forget about it!

It’s replete with an accompanying music video that takes on the idea that the hitmen in Reservoir Dogs made a cameo in the beloved American dance drama Step Up. Grab ya popcorn, preferably with unsaturated Margarine for some calorie friendly fun.

As much as Melbourne band DIET. have been contradicting their band name for a little while now, they sure af have been working up a sweat when it comes to developing their sound in the rehearsal room and on the road.

In 2017 the group hit the recording studio for an ode to the classic Aussie tradition of streaking in ‘Clothes Off’, following it up with synth laden, heartfelt love letter in “Take Me” (a number that found the band in spot rotation on the J’s across the back half of the year). Nostalgic synthesisers and playful guitar lines (influenced by The Smiths and The Cure) made for an affectionate and sweeping overture, giving them an opportunity to tour across the East Coast as well as being taken on the road by Polish Club. For the new year the group have delivered “Forget About It”, an old school indie-rock floor filler to burn of dem calories.
