Independent folk/alt rock band Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners have released new music and I am going to reviewing two singles, called ‘Bins’ and ‘Ivy’. Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners is made up of mates Mitch Cutts, Nic Haughn, Jakob Ervin, and Ryan Lavallee. One thing that I would never guessed from their sound that they were self taught! The band are about to release their ‘Subliming’ album and they thing that this is their best work to date.
The first song I am reviewing is ‘Bins’ that is a super laid back song to listen to when a chill out session is needed. So pretty much everyday! I adore Mitch’s vocal sound that sounds older than he is. The harmonies are incredible. Mitch’s vocals have a unique sounding voice that is showcased in ‘Bins’. Of course the rest of the band is not to be left out, their sound all fits nicely and creates the groove. Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners said “It’s really a super weird song — I think that’s why we had a lot of fun writing it. ” I think that is why I love is as I usually do love the different and unique sounds.
‘Ivy’ is the next song from ‘Sublime’ that I wanted to tell you about. I love the start and the way the music builds. Then of course Mitch’s unique vocals start and the song is impossible to turn off. With a song as good as this that is the fifth song of their album ‘Sublime’ I am thinking that the first 3 are really worthwhile listening to. I am going to keep an eye on Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners and an ear open for their music.
You can take a listen to ‘Bin’s and ‘Ivy’ here and you might as well listen to the whole album ”Subliming’.
