Swedish band Tribe Friday who are bring back dancefloor rock. Last year their debut EP ‘Trying Your Luck’ was released with gigs around Europe and played to packed shows in the US. They have just released their second EP ‘Chasing Pictures’ that includes their latest single called ‘If I Were You’. This song has been played live in the tours I just mentioned and now is ready to be released. ‘If I Were You’ was written by singer and songwriter, Noah Deutschmann who tells us that he wrote it when he was 15 or 16 and that it is about being a teenager a making risky decisions. However, the song could relate to whatever age you are.
To make the song unique Noah recorded 18 voices for the electronic vocals. This makes for interesting listening! The extra electronic parts were to include the 80’s sound in the song. Noah has an incredible vocal sound, and when he sings he sounds like he is making no effort at all. I know he is but the relaxed sound makes the song stand out. ‘If I Were You’ is catchy and I think it deserves radio play and to climb the charts. It relates to what is happening in the world right now, just switch the lyrics to hoarding toilet paper!
A music video is going to be released soon so keep an eye out for that. in the meantime take a listen to ‘If I Were You’ here.
