Dear Seattle deliver another rock anthem “Afterthought”

+ TOUR STARTS THIS WEEKEND

While ‘The Meadows’ chanted “fuck being sad, I’m so over it”, ‘Afterthought’ will have you singing Hope tells me that I’m getting somewhere soon”.

Sydney’s Dear Seattle are here to serve you another dose of headbanging, beer-in-the-sky melodic grunge rock with new single ‘Afterthought’, the follow up track to their break out single ‘The Meadows’. Bigger, better, and more anthemic, the second single off their upcoming EP is once again made unique by their high impact sing-along choruses reminiscent of early 90’s grunge in a similar vein of Aussie favourites Violent Soho, Luca Brasi, and Tired Lion, mixed with the punk rock sounds of Trophy Eyes, PUP, or Columbus.

The video for new single ‘Afterthought’ follows on from ‘The Meadows’ video storyline, as the protagonist wakes up from the party to discover a whole set of consequences.

dear-seattle-02“We’ve all had that hungover wakeup where it feels like you’re living in a snow globe and someone’s come along during the night and shaken the fuck out of it. You’ve got missed calls, angry messages, a thumper of a headache and no recollection of what you’ve done wrong. Afterthought explores this through the retelling of a breakup, initiated as a result of the childish larrikinism in The Meadows. More importantly however, it looks at the post breakup reflection. That sweet and fleeting moment of clarity after you’ve been severed from a long dying relationship – that happiness you feel when you realise the relationship changed you, and was slowly erasing your true character. Don’t lose sight of your own goals, but don’t take life too seriously, otherwise you’ll end up wishing you’d never been born at all.” – Brae Fisher (vocals)

“Two for two! Where The Meadows showed huge promise, Afterthought seals the deal” – Nick Findlay, Triple J (4 Stars)

“Another barn burner by these guys. I mean it, seriously, don’t let these guys play a show on your farm cos they’ll torch the joint.” – Dave Ruby-Howe, Triple J Unearthed (4 Stars)

“How do you follow up a total belter like The Meadows? This. This is exactly how.”Max Quinn, Triple J Unearthed
