From such a young age Cassidy Shooster has demonstrated her natural vocals and with some fine tuning has released a jewel of a love song called ‘Waste’. Her bitterness from a breakup is apparent but the song portrays this in such a mature way. ‘Waste’ is from her debut EP “Introspection”. I am looking forward to hearing the other songs if ‘Waste’ is an indication of what is to come! My prediction? Cassie has the talent to take the Music Industry by storm!
Cassidy Shooster is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from South Florida with Electronic, Pop, Jazz, and Dark RnB impressions. After developing a natural vocal ability at age 6, she quickly invited piano and guitar to her skill set and caught the ear of Ariana Grande’s former vocal coach, whom she’s been working with ever since. Over the past six months, she has fashioned a collective of original songs for her debut EP “Introspection.” She defines her style as a merge of Banks, Allen Stone, Etta James and James Blake into one. Her silky vocal timbre coupled with her jazzed runs and humanistic nuances call for a distinguishable listen each time.

We’re all familiar with the characteristics of teenage breakup songs nowadays—dramatic, inauthentic and predictable. However, Shooster presents her tale of heartbreak with a hue of maturity and a tint of darkness. With bitterness still dripping from the words in her new song “Waste,” the young artist accomplishes her revenge by branding her ex-lover as the lowest of low. In collaboration with Miami producer Crashtandy, a haunting tune with hard r&b backbeats, bleak soundscapes and contagious melodies is born. The product is polished by the talent of mixer Mike “Banga” Cadahia (Drake, Robin Thicke, DJ Khaled) and Sterling Sound’s mastering engineer, Randy Merrill (Lorde, Adele, Mark Ronson). It is distributed through Kobalt’s AWAL platform.
