February 20, 2018 — This Friday – NQ’s most hardcore outfit Sanctum & Solace are dropping their brand new EP Made Wrong – and now it’s time to drop new track from it, “Social Suicide.” The EP is available to pre-order now at iTunes and the singles are in Spotify.
What people are saying about Sanctum & Solace:
“[Sanctum & Solace]’s newest cut is an abrasive, angular and groovy hardcore tune; not unlike what fellow Aussies DriveTime Commute, The Orphan, Life Pilot and Junkhead all do respectively. But this musically heavy and thematically emotive journey is one that also sees the band finding time to flex out their melodic muscles within this gripping track’s three and a half minute runtime come the dynamic finale.” — killyourstereo
“At first hearing “Made Wrong” I was kind of left feeling as though a giant semi trailer had just run a red light and knocked me for six.” — Music Beyond Headlines
“Made Wrong as an EP expresses the sentiment of how messy and destructive we are as humans; our fixation on objects and quick hits of shallow satisfaction, and our own undoing from within. Expressed with minute-to-minute changes in rhythm and sound and vocal intensity, Made Wrong is a breath-holding ride from end to end.” — Depth Mag
“Caustic riffs and tight drumbeats help to drive the overall sense of angst and melancholy home. Think Architects meets Northlane—both bands of which Sanctum & Solace claim as major sources of inspiration—and you’ll get something akin to Made Wrong.” — Teo Magazine
The band have been in operation since 2013 and have found themselves with a strong foothold in the Queensland heavy music scene due to an undeniably awesome work and tour ethic, playing a tonne of shows this year and last and have been packing out shows up and down the QLD coast.
The outfit have put out singles Taedium Vitae, Slave and 1096 from the EP so far, premiering tracks at Hysteria Mag and killyourstereo and now Social Suicide at Wall of Sound and received radio love from triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud. as well as The Faction. Along the way, they have played along side the likes of Aussie bands Deadlights, Vitals, Promethean, Stepson and She Cries Wolf, the band has received overwhelming responses from everywhere they’ve played.
Their new EP ‘Made Wrong’, was mixed and mastered by Gareth Hargreaves at Tall Tree Studios which has now sadly closed down. Gareth Hargreaves at Tall Tree Studios recorded the band’s energetic take on hardcore music, using all live takes of the band in the studio – capturing the energy of the band’s brutal energy on stage.
