The new single, Shifting In Degrees, is a personal moment for The Plastic Attraction using the poppy momentum of their musicals styling to mask and move on from tough experiences.
“Shifting In Degrees is a tale of change, growing up and realizing that while you used to click with your other half, you don’t anymore. It has tones of sadness against a backdrop of upbeat instrumentation and this ear-worm chorus,” said vocalist, Liam Nicholls.
“It’s a bit of a bleak story really! But strangely, we had a lot of fun writing it and messing around with harmonies and if you don’t listen to the lyrics, you’d probably swear it was a pretty happy song,” said guitarist, Matt Nunes.
Shifting in Degrees was recorded by Tristan Sturmer at Sumo Sound Studios (Sparrow, Verge Collection, Make Way For Man), mixed by Andy Lawson at Debaser Studios (Tired Lion, Eskimo Joe) and mastered by mastering legend William Bowden at King Willy Sound (Gotye, Bluejuice, Ball Park Music).
