DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 22, 2018) – Celebrated hair-metal band Nova Rex, will take center stage at Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach on Friday, Sept. 28.  Performing oceanfront on the Avalon Terrace, Nova Rex will be joined by special guest performer and original lead singer, Kevin Tetz.

“Nova Rex represents true 1980s hair band rock royalty and still lives for the music,” said Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach General Manger Androse Bell. “With their high energy, love of music, plus rock and roll credentials, they’re a perfect fit in our concert line-up.”

Launched into fame during the flamboyant era of late-80s, early-90s good-time party rock and roll, Nova Rex is ranked among the Top 50 Greatest Hair Bands from the 80s by VH-1 and has been honored in both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum and Archives and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. From their first major hit single, “Turn it Up (Loud),” to their 2017 album “Rock Star Roadshow,” Nova Rex has kept the hard rock party alive since 1985, entertaining legions of fans at concerts across the country. Wilkerson’s jacket, which he wore in the 80s, is a part of the memorabilia collection on permanent display at Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach.

Opening act Pretty Boy Floyd with albums like “Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz” and two Top-20 videos on MTV will start things off at 8 p.m. Admission is just $10 per person. A limited number of VIP tickets will be available for $25, which includes a meet & greet with the bands, Nova Rex Greatest Hits CD, and reserved concert viewing area. An ‘80s costume contest is also planned for 6:30 pm, with the winner taking home a two-night stay at Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach. Concert goers can also bid on a custom Fender guitar, signed by the bands, with proceeds benefiting We Rock for Autism.
